Thank you for listening and we hope you have enjoyed this episode of
Action Film Face-Off.

  1. Nice episode. Absolutely right about the Warriors Three. In fact, that colored my entire appreciation for the film. I would love the comedy if the movie didn't end with the destruction of Asgard and all these heroes' deaths. Felt like the comedy robbed them of the right sense of occasion.

And so I would have probably fallen on the side of Point Break here, even though I also first saw it much later (indeed, after Hot Fuzz which overtly referenced it). I think it's one of the American movies that comes closest to the Hong Kong stuff I love, so I forgive it its crazy excesses the same way I do HK movies.

2001 and 2010? In your shoes, I would watch Shaolin Soccer and Norwegian Ninja (ok, I don't know if Norwegian Ninja counts, so my Plan B is Machete).
